Got the car running today by doing nothing other than draining the old gas and putting some fresh gas in the tank... kind of amazing considering it's been sitting for 5 years. Anyway, now that it's running I can actually start thinking about what I want to do to the car. First thing to go will be the filthy steelies, hopefully I can find a set of 13" basketweaves for cheap.

Very nice! I am even more jealous that you now have this as well as the world's most beautiful Miata. Look for Enkei 92s for good, cheap basketweaves. I would trust Enkei over knockoff brands with BBS replicas.

Very nice car, not a huge fan of the colour but it could be destined for rally fun.

Same thing happened with the Jag. I simply cleaned up an earth and it fired after sitting in a field for 4 years.

I love it when that happens.

I still can't get over how excellent these things look. Great find.

Nice car .... second thing I would do, is ditch those US bumpers. I have zero idea how hard it is, but IMO every car from that era needs them off.

I've always wanted an E21 with the single headlights... So much lust...

Is it a 6-cylinder 320i or a 4-cylinder (I don't know enough about e21s to tell the difference, I think it's a different # of headlights and I'm inclined to guess 6 cylinder for quad headlights).

If it is an M20B20, the timing belt should be first on the list.

Definitely. They really only help with collisions 5mph and under anyway

It's a 4 cylinder, unfortunately that's all they sold here. A far as I know it has a timing chain but I should probably verify that...

Yup, I'll definitely be doing something about them

That's awesome about the jag. How are the Fiat and the Spit coming along?

Haha I'm not sure if it's the worlds most beautiful but hey I'm glad you like it... I like the 92s but the smallest they come in is 15" and I want to stick to 13s or 14s for this car. I may test fit the Grids from the Miata just for shits.

Yeah, the M10 does. I think the only things you might have to worry about there are the chain guides and tensioner. I think you'd probably be able to hear it if there is an issue with those.

Though if you're going to do a service that includes a water pump, you can pull off the timing cover and check it out.

The Fiat's had a bit of bad luck. I'm fairly sure the headgasket's gone as it's bubbling through the coolant header tank. It's not really a problem, but it does mean more work before it's on the road.

The Jag's coming along. I've finally managed to get all the little hydraulic widgets needed for making my custom clutch pipe (they're all non-standard sizes). I also need to find my reel of stainless welding wire to finish making a little pushrod that was missing from the clutch mechanism and I'm good to hook everything back up and get rolling.
